Mission of the KSNAC Greening Committee
The mission of the Kensington South Greening Committee is to promote the continued greening and
improvement of the Kensington South community. Activities include but are not limited to:
* Building a broad base of support for and participation in a wide range of greening activities that cut
across the entire neighborhood.
* Promoting and supporting our community gardens.
* Promoting and supporting stewardship of our parks and open spaces.
* Supporting our neighborhood Tree Tenders in their efforts to build our urban tree canopy through
identifying and screening sites for the planting of new trees and encouraging street planting where
appropriate, and with the ongoing maintenance of our neighborhood’s trees.
* Educating residents about a broad range of greening activities including planting and maintenance.
*Arbor day and other projects involving youth.
*Connecting with and participating in city wide greening efforts, plans, and networks.


It's Tree Request Time!
Do you want a tree? Our neighborhood Tree Tenders are taking applications for free trees to be
planted as soon as Spring 2011. If you would like to see trees planted in front of your home or business,
please complete and return this form asap to greening@ksnac.org or to the address provided. For more
information call 215-370-0099.
